On a hot July night, Faythe and I walked out deep into the pasture, and laid down and looked up into the galaxy to see many star clusters, and a big, bright, full moon. We started talking and I told her all about the solar system. I told her about the inner plants, and what planets they are, and I told her about the outer plants, and what those planets are. She asked me what asteroids, comets, and meteoroids were. I told her that asteroids were small, rocky bodies that revolve around the sun, . A comet is body made up of ice and rocky dust particles that orbits the sun, and a meteoroid is a small piece of rock that moves through the solar system. I also told her about the satellites in space. ” A satellite is an object that revolve around another object, such as a planet. The solar system is really interesting once you get to know it a little better. Faythe asked me, ” What do the astronauts do while they are in space?” I told her that the astronauts that work for NASA, do many things, such as go through many types of training and exercise to learn how to manage in space. They also have to learn how to fly a space ship and how to work with the objects when you enter into space. I told her this is also the International Space Station, of the ISS for short. The astronauts from the ISS work together to conduct research on astronomy, biology, and many other subjects. Space is an awesome subject to learn and talk about. There are awesome things in space that are AMAZING!! There are many things that we don’t know about space today that we are still trying to study. Like, is there really aliens in space, or is there another planet with people and plants and oxygen in another galaxy? The world may never know.
